The concert features three internationally acclaimed Norweigian Opera Singers, Rita Heigre (Soprano), Nils Harald Sødal (Tenor), Anna Einarsson (Mezzo-soprano) and one of the finest Pianists James Duddle.
They will come alive on stage with public shows on the 15th June 2010 at the Russian Cultural Centre Auditorium at 7.00pm and on the 20th June 2010 at the Engineering Faculty Theatre (E.O.E. Pereira Theatre), Kandy at 6.30pm. In addition they will perform concerts and workshops for children and the youth in Colombo at Ladies College Auditorium, Musaeus College Auditorium, Visakha Vidyalaya Auditorium, in Negombo at Newstead Girl’s School Auditorium, in Kandy at Trinity College Hall and in Galle at Siri Dhamma College Hall, Sangamittha College Auditorium, Mahinda College Auditorium and Richmond College Auditorium. The entrance for all these concerts will be free of charge.
They will also hold a five day master class for the students of University of Visual and Performing Arts which will conclude with a joint performance by the artists and students on 22 June 2010, 10.00am, at the Lionel Silva Memorial Hall. There will be two more workshops for aspiring young singers on 16th June 2010, 5.30pm at the Institute of Western Music and Speech, Colombo and 20th June 2010 from 9.00am onwards at 151, Riverdale Road, Kandy. The workshops are free of charge and those interested can register by mailing to rashani@sewalanka.org.
There will also be a collaborative music performance by the artists and the Symphony Orchestra on the 26th of June 2010 for invitees only.
This is the fifth group of Musicians touring Sri Lanka as part of a broader music cooperation established between Concerts Norway, Aru Sri Art Theatre and Sewalanka Foundation, funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
