Fee Scheme

Last updated: 03/01/2012 // Due to update of exchange rates and changes in the Norwegian fee scheme the following fees will take effect from 04th January 2012.

Fees are to be paid in Sri Lankan rupees (LKR) only. The exchange rate is listed at the Embassy’s information-board and based on the Embassy's own exchange rate and may be changed by the Embassy without prior notice whenever deemed necessary.

The handling fees at the Embassy are as follows from 04th January 2012:

C - Short-stay visa for applicants older than 12 years

EURO 60,-

LKR 8,900.-

C - Short-stay visa for children between 6 and 12 years

EURO 35,-

LKR 5,200.-

Application for a residence/work permit

NOK 2.500,-

LKR 46,500.-

Application for first time residence and work permit for family members (family reunion)

NOK 3.750,-

LKR 69,750.-

The following are exempted from fee for submitting application for Schengen Visa:

  • Children under the age of six years at the time the application is submitted.
  • School pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training.
  • Researchers from third countries travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research as defined in Recommendation No 2005/761/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 September 2005.
  • Spouse, children, decendant or dependant ascendant of an EU/EEA nationals with residence in EU/EEA (must be documented).
  • The visa fee may be waived for other reasons according to Visa Code Article 16 paragraph 5 or 6.

Please inform VFS or Embassy staff if you are entitled to be exempted.

The following are exempted from fee for submitting application for residence/work permit:

  • All EU/EEA nationals.
  • Children under the age of 18 years at the time the application is submitted.

Fee for D-visa

In certain instances there might be nessecary to apply for/issue a D-visa for entering the realm for work or residency. The same fee as for Schengen visa applies for these cases.

Handling fee for visa applications for Denmark, Iceland, Finland and Sweden

There will be taken a handling fee when handing in a visa application to Denmark, Iceland, Sweden and Finland. This according to Shengen regulations where a handling fee (Non-refundable) is compulsory for every Visa application to Schengen.

Service fee

VFS Lanka Ltd is according to Visa Code Article 17 entitled to take a service fee for their services. Their fees are posted within their premises in 6th Floor, East Tower, World Trade Centre.
