Fee Scheme

Due to update of exchange rates the following fees will take effect from 22 December 2008.

TAMIL SINHALA

The handling fees at the Embassy are as follows from 22. December 2008:

A - Airport transit visa

RS 9,600.-

EURO 60,-

B - Transit visa (one, two or multiple entries)

RS 9,600.-

EURO 60,-

C - Short-stay visa

RS 9,600.-

EURO 60,-

Application for a residence/work permit or renewal of such

RS 16,600.-

NOK 1.100,-

Application for first time residence and work permit for family members in accordance with the Immigration Regulation section 22 or 24

RS 45,300.-

NOK 3.000,-

 The following are exempted from fee for submitting application for Schengen Visa:
  • Children under six years of age
  • Pupils, students and their accompanying teachers if the purpose of the travel is studying or other training
  • Researchers from third countries travelling in the Schengen area to do scientific research as defined by the European parliament and council recommendation 2005/761/EF of 28 September 2005.
Handling fee for visa applications for Denmark and Iceland

From Monday 22 September 2008 there has been taken a handling fee when handing in an application for visa at the Norwegian Embassy in Colombo, also to Denmark and Iceland. This according to Shengen regulations where a handling fee is compulsory for every visa application to Schengen.

If an application for a visa to Denmark is discontinued at the Norwegian Embassy a new handling fee has to be paid if application is handeed in to the Royal Danish Honorary Consulate in Colombo.

The following are exempted from fee for submitting application for residence/work permit:
  • All EU/EEA nationals.
  • Children under the age of 18 years at the time the application is submitted.

Please inform The Embassy staff if you are entitled to be exempted.

Fees are to be paid in Sri Lankan rupies (RS) only. The exchange rate is listed at the Embassy’s information-board and based on exchange rates from 13.12.2008. The exchange rate will be changed by the Embassy without prior notice whenever deemed necessary.
