With effect from Monday 08 June 2009, Schengen Visa application forms and checklists for required additional documentation can be collected from the Schengen Visa Application Centre at No. 120A, Havelock Road, Colombo 5.

There are specific rules, regulations and practice which differs from country to country towards different nationalities. Check always the specific Embassy's information before submitting any application. The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) has however issued a set of fact sheets that may give answers to some GENERAL questions.

According to the Schengen regulations, any applicant must apply for a Schengen visa to the country where the longest stay will be during the journey.

There's no such visa as "Open visa"

The Embassy takes this opportunity to inform the general public that this Embassy DOES NOT issue any so called ‘OPEN VISAS’. The Embassy is receiving numerous inquiries by telephone regarding "open visas". The Embassy reiterates that, apart from the standard Schengen Visa, there is no such category as ‘open visas’.
