Aru Sri Arth Theatre, in association with the Norwegian Embassy, would like to invite to a vocal concert with soprano Camilla Jonstang, accompanied on piano by Ms. Menaka Sahabandu, on 5 May 2008 at 6.00 p.m., at Goethe Institut Colombo, 39 Gregory's Road, Colombo 7. Admission is free.
Camilla Jonstang will perform several beautiful arias and songs of the famous composers Edvard Grieg (1843-1907), Ture Rangström (1884-1947), Richard Strauss (1864-1949), Gustav Mahler (1860-1911), Maurice Ravel (1875-1937), Claude Debussy (1862-1918), Erik Satie (1866-1925), Louis Guiglielmy, W.A. Mozart (1756-1797) and Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924).
Camilla Jonstang, soprano, who is a graduate of the Norwegian Academy of Music, Oslo, has performed widely in Norway and Russia and at numerous international music festivals and church concerts. Her repertoire spans from the lyrical Handel and Mozart to the more dramatic Richard Strauss and Rachmaninov, in orchestral works, oratorio, songs and opera.
